Daily > Settings > Misc
The 'Misc' tab in Daily > Settings has two important settings:
1) How far in advance can resources be booked? Note that resources include both rooms and equipment.
2) Accounting method.
How Far in Advance can Resources be Booked?
For schools that use the Room Booking and/or the Equipment Booking modules, this setting allows an Administrator or Daily Organiser to set how far in advance resources can be booked.
The options are 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 8 weeks, This rotation only, This and next rotation or No limit.
Users with the correct permissions are able to book rooms or equipment but will be limited to the date range selected.
Accounting Method
There are three accounting methods available.
- Events have credit by default
- Events have zero credit by default
- The Work Allocation index method (previously known as the 480 index method) for some Victorian schools
Notes
- All supervision type events and all exam type events will have credit by default regardless of which accounting method is selected.
- Only one cover type can be applied to a cover. For example, a cover cannot be partially an extra and partially an in lieu.
- Cover credit can be edited via the 'Alternatives' panel if necessary.
Events have Credit by Default
When this method is selected, all events will have credit by default.
The following conditions apply to this accounting method:
- If a teacher is hard-coded to an event, that is, they are added to the event via the event and not via the covers page, they do not get any extras credited for attending the event. The ‘credit’ will be recorded as ‘event’.
- If an available teacher is added to an event as an additional teacher via the covers panel and that teacher is underload by a value greater than or equal to the total event credit, they will not get credited with extras for the event. The covers will be underload covers.
- If an available teacher is added to an event as an additional teacher via the covers panel and that teacher had classes cancelled in all periods of the event, they will not be credited with extras for the event. The covers will be in lieu covers.
- If an available teacher is added to an event as an additional teacher via the covers panel and that teacher is not underload nor has had any classes cancelled during the course of the event, they will be credited with extras for the event.
- If an available teacher is added to an event as an additional teacher via the covers panel but does not have enough in lieu credit to cover the entire event, they will be credited with extras for the entire event.
- If an available teacher is added to an event as an additional teacher via the covers panel and that teacher has an underload value less than the total credit of the event, they will be credited with extras for the entire event.
- If an unavailable teacher is added to an event as an additional teacher via the covers panel, and a ‘lesson swap’ is carried out, that teacher will not be credited with extras for the event, regardless of whether they have had classes cancelled or are underload, as they are deemed to be ‘absent’.
- If an unavailable teacher is added to an event as an additional teacher via the covers panel, and a ‘clash’’ is allowed, and that teacher does not have enough underload or in lieu credit to cover the entire event, they will be credited with extras for the entire event, regardless of the number of clashing periods.
Events have Zero Credit by Default
NOTE: This is the recommended method.
When this method is selected, all events, other than supervision and exam events will have zero credit by default.
The following conditions apply to this accounting method:
- If a teacher is hard-coded to an event, that is, they are added to the event via the event and not via the covers page, they do not get any extras credited for attending the event. The ‘credit’ will be recorded as ‘event’.
- Teachers covering the event as additional teachers will be not credited with extras for the event. The credit for additional teachers can be changed via the 'Alternatives; panel if required.
The Work Allocation (480) Index method used by some Victorian Schools
Schools using this method will have covers assigned using the Work Allocation Index (previously 480 Index) and the extras for events will be the same as for method 2. Allcovers
For more information on the Work Allocation Index see this document: E10 - Reports: Teachers: Work Allocation Index (VICTORIA)

Timetable Daily uses credits for covers. Each period will have a default cover credit based on the median length of all periods in the timetable. Regardless of whether teaching loads are displayed in periods or minutes in E10, Daily will adjust the credit of each period based on 1 credit being assigned to the median length period.
