Timetable Daily: Cover Credit

Modified on Thu, 14 Aug at 12:42 AM

TABLE OF CONTENTS

The credit assigned to a cover is a calculated amount based on the median length period within each grid in a dataset. In most cases, this amount is acceptable and does not require changing, however, some schools may wish to use a different amount. The credit amount can be changed manually via the Covers page but this can be tedious if there are a lot of covers that require adjusting, as they need to be done one by one. A new setting has been developed that will enable a default amount to be assigned to each period in the dataset which will be applied automatically to any covers in those periods.

IMPORTANT: Please note that changing the credit amount via this function will change the credit value for all historical covers as well as future covers. It is recommended that the Covers report is generated prior to making changes to credit values via the 'Cover credit' setting, making the data available should historical covers need to be changed individually back to the original credit.

Setting up the default credit amounts

To enter the default credit amounts, navigate to Daily > Settings and open the 'Cover credit' tab. Here a table with periods will be displayed, each in its own row in the table with an 'Edit' icon at the end.

For muti-grid schools, a campus filter will be displayed on the right so that each grid within the dataset can be selected and adjusted if required.

To set a default value for a period, select the edit icon at the end of the row to open the following window.

When the Credit value is blank, Daily will continue to use the calculated value for covers in that period.
To change to a default amount, enter the required value. This can be done using the up and down arrows that appear when you click in the cell or the value can be typed in, as is required when a decimal value is to be entered.
Once the value is entered, click on 'Save' to close the window.

In the above example, the default credit for covers in the 'Roll' period has been entered as 0.2. The calculated amount was 0.3 but now that 0.2 has been entered, all covers in the Roll period will be given a credit of 0.2 automatically.
The screen shot below shows the credit as 0.300 before setting the default credit amount:

The screen shot below shows the credit as 0.200 after setting the default credit amount:

Note that the credit value can be edited manually, even after a default value is created.

Resetting the credit amount back to the calculated value.

Once a default credit amount is set and saved, it can be reverted back to the calculated value by using the 'Reset credit' button in the Update cover credit window.  It is not possible to delete a value manually.

Zero credit

Info

Whenever the default credit is set to zero for a period, all replacement teachers in that period will be assigned a cover type of 'No credit', regardless from which tab on the Alternatives screen they are selected.
