TABLE OF CONTENTS
Preamble
Aurora College started as NSW's virtual selective school servicing rural and remote students in Stage 4 and 5. It has grown to encompass a non-selective Stage 6 cohort.
The aim is to allow students to enjoy a depth of study that was not previously available to them.
Lessons are delivered online synchronously to students in their school, by teachers in similar settings.

The number of science practical lessons a school is required to schedule is based on which stages the school has students studying with Aurora. The breakdown of periods is documented on Aurora's website located here https://aurora.schools.nsw.gov.au/partner-schools/resources-for-partner-schools.html

Note that schools will need to have a teacher allocated to each practical lesson and have a room available that is suitable to conduct practical activities. This may be determined before or after construction depending on school requirements
Creating Practical Lessons
In the example below, the timetable has been constructed and there is an Aurora student in Group 1 in Year 7. Science classes in this year are 7 periods rather than 6 so one period has been split.

Practical classes do not coincide with the students Aurora group class. So you will need to line up the practical class with either the split class from Science (in the example 7SCI.1a), or a different subject altogether if you have the required 6 periods for Science.
Once the timetable is constructed, the 7SCI.1a class has been positioned where E10 decides is ideal:
A science practical class will now need to be created in the 10G year level in Class data (F6) and lined up with the split science class.

Note that this class was added to the No Aurora Group on Line 3. This class was staffed and roomed post construction
Adding Practical Lessons to Master Grid
Now you will need to go to your Master grid (F11) and move the new science practical class to sit over the class you deemed appropriate to have the lesson. To do so click on the class on the left hand side, press Spacebar on your keyboard, click on the desired location and press Spacebar again:

If this creates a teacher or room clash, pin the practical class and class it sits above by clicking on each and pressing "P" on your keyboard. Then try the Optimise or Fix Clashes function before proceeding
The final step is to enrol the Aurora student into the practical class.
This can be done by copying the class code from the 10G year level in Class data (F6).
Go to Students > Student data (F8), find the relevant student and paste the code into a blank Class cell.

You have now successfully created your practical science classes and are ready to move onto assigning students to their respective Aurora classes
