E10 - Study roster - summary and benefits

Modified on Thu, 14 Aug at 1:07 AM

Preamble

The Study Periods feature is used to organise students into study periods, to occupy all the gaps they might have in their timetable (with some exceptions).  It is a period-by-period based feature, as distinct from a line-based feature.

Benefits

Listed are a few reasons why you should be using Study roster:

  • No need to create special classes in Class data.

  • Dynamic/automatic class list management adjusted to suit the parameters entered. E.g. go home early / start late.

  • Automatically registers students who have dropped a class.

  • Automatically registers students who are free some periods due to taking a class that does not run for all periods of the line e.g. 1U class on a 2U line.

  • Automatically registers students who are free for a period when a single lesson has been taken offline.

  • Edval does not have to schedule these classes during timetable construction.
