Preamble

Once classes are staffed, it is possible to ‘split’ teachers for a class.  There are a couple of ways of doing this, one is the Native Split.  If auto-staffing is re-run, the split will also need to be re-done if still required.

How to:

The Native Split can be initiated from several screens: Classes > Year timetables F7; Teachers > Teachers timetable F3; Teachers > Faculty master; Teachers > Teacher master (by day).

  1. Select the specific class (day+period) to be allocated a different teacher.  Hit the letter ‘T’ on the keyboard.

  2. A table of possible options is displayed in the teacher picker window that comes up.  All teachers are listed. Those at the top of list in dark font are in the Subject teacher set for that subject.  Those lower down in lighter font can still be used but are not in Subject teacher set.

  3. The header row shows the timetabled periods for the selected class.

  4. The top row indicates the periods when the selected teacher takes that class, with a red flashing rectangle highlighting the selected day+period.

  5. Select a white empty cell in same column below flashing rectangle to assign that lesson to another teacher.

  6. The new assignment is made and Edval immediately returns to the previous screen.
