These tables are very good tools to help analyse which subjects were missed and by how many students.

Missed Courses

The missed courses table displays the number of students who missed each course. Students might miss out on a subject due to it clashing with a higher preferenced subject, or the class is at capacity.

Course: The course codes.
Number: The total number of students who failed to be granted the subject despite it being one of their main preferences.
Interest: The interest level of the course by those who have missed it, taking into account the preference level for each student. See the Course Popularity report for the calculation (Lines > Analysis > Course Popularity).
Class sizes: The number of classes running along with the number of students in each class. The colour of each class matches the specific line the class is situated in.
  1. This table by default displays highest Interest results first.
  2. All subjects of the dataset will be included in the report, even courses with zero missed preferences, but are displayed for completeness and to graphically show the number of classes and the colour of the lines they occupy.
  3. Any of the headers can be clicked to re-sort the table.
  4. Clicking on a course will open a window listing the students who have missed out, the preference level, and the student priority (if using).
  5. Any manual changes to the line structure will be automatically reflected in this table, such as editing the lines and/or increasing the number of students per class for a subject.
  6. This table and the drilled down tables of students have missed courses can be exported to Excel by clicking the 'Export to Excel' icon in the top right hand corner. This export will show the Missed courses table on the first sheet and a list of students have missed courses on subsequent sheets. Only courses that students have missed will be exported.
In the image above, LEG had 4 students miss out. For CHE, there are two classes running, with 16 in the first class and 17 in the second.

Missed Preferences

The missed preferences table shows the number of students who missed out on a main preference at the preference level.

In the image below, 7 students missed their first preference, 2.5 missed the second and so on. (Decimals may be seen to account for one unit courses). This table can be exported to Excel.
