Student Action Codes

Changes made to student data and class lists made in Edval Staff will be saved to 'etz.index' file. This file can be accessed to view these changes.

Location of INDEX file

The INDEX file can be found in the 'Autobaks' folder, which is a folder automatically created wherever an .etz file is stored. Navigate to the folder location of the .etz file and look for the Autobaks folder.

Open the Autobaks folder to locate the .etz.index file. This file can be opened this via the Notepad program.

The text displayed will show the date, computer name of the person making the change as saved in your network, software version number and the student action. Usually only the Student's code will display, unless changes have been made to a student's name.

Student Action Codes

STUNEW: A new student code is added to the file.

eg. Student 99NEW has been added to the file:
Fri 6/7/2018 10:41 Timetabler's Name 2.24.104| STUNEW 7 "99NEW" ""

STUREN: A student's name is added or edited.

eg. Student 99NEW has had his name entered:
Fri 6/7/2018 10:42 Timetabler's Name 2.24.104| STUREN 7 "99NEW" "99NEW" "COLLINS, Ted"

STUMF: A student's gender is entered or changed.

eg. 99NEW has had the M gender entered:

STUROL: A student's letter or number group is entered or changed.

eg. Student 99NEW has had the Letter Group A added:

STUROB: A student changes classes via the MyClasses screen (short for Round Robin).

eg. Student 2029 has moved into 11HHD_3 and out of 11VCD_3:
Fri 6/7/2018 10:48 Timetabler's Name 2.24.104| STUROB 11 "2029" into:11HHD_3 outof:11VCD_3

STUYER: A student is moved to a different year level.

eg. Student 8140 has moved into Year 8 from Year 7:

STUOUT: A student is removed from a class.

eg. Student 7770 has been removed from class 8ENG_A:

STUIN: A student is enrolled into a class.

eg. Student 7770 has been enrolled into 7ENG_A:

STUDEL: A student is deleted from the file.

eg. Student 8326 has been deleted:

STUENR: A student is marked as 'Departed' or made active from a departed status. Y/N student as active and with N student as left

eg. Student 530 has been marked as 'departed',

then made active again:

STPAIR: Relates to buddy pairs & mischief pairs. After the 2 student codes you’ll see a ‘V’ for virtuous (buddy) or ‘M’ for mischief.
