TABLE OF CONTENTS
Preamble
This document provides information about how student changes made in Edval Staff can be sent directly to the Edval webserver for Edval Daily, Edval Choice and Edval Interviews purposes.
Webcode prompt in Edval Staff
When a change to a student information is made in Edval Staff, the user is prompted to enter their webcode. Webcodes are used to authenticate your user account for Edval cloud products (Daily, Choice & Interviews).
There is no need to save or for any further sync to be performed. The data is also sent directly to the registered .etz timetable file.
Webcodes and required permissions
Staff webcodes can be found when logging into the my.edval.education website, via Admin > Users.
Please refer to the timetabler or the Daily Organiser for more information about webcodes.
To enable users to make changes to Daily through Edval Staff, they must have the user permission 'Upload data from Desktop applications. Users can have multiple roles and having a role named 'Class List Manager' with this permission for example would make it very readable at a glance who is allowed to do this. We would prefer schools make a new role for this to make it clear and manageable, however you can choose to instead add this permission to an existing role such as 'permanent teacher' which is the default role for all timetabled staff. You will need to grant users, through one of these methods, the permission 'Upload data from desktop applications'.
Please refer to the Daily user management guide for instructions on how to complete this as well as issue webcodes in the first place.
The Daily organiser may then perform a manual sync to send the student information to other supported external systems eg Sentral, Compass.
Note: If there is no need to send student data changes to the Edval webserver, ie, the school is not using the Edval Daily or Edval Interviews modules, select 'Don't connect to the Edval web server this session' and 'Ok'.
