Preamble
The Head Office feature is only available to Tes customers who are set up with Parent accounts (Top level organisation)
Individual schools are added as members of the Parent account.
The Tes Head Office feature will enable designated Administrators and IT personnel of the Parent account to access all member datasets with a single login. This will allow them to assist member schools by having access to each of their cloud datasets, to investigate, replicate and resolve any reported issues.
How do we get access to this feature?
- The Head Office feature must be requested by the school via the Get help! function within the product.
- The request must be titled Access to Head Office feature and contain a full list of all member schools to be added to the group.
- Tes will create a licence for the parent school and connect all datasets of member schools.
- Once the dataset is created and licensed, the login access (WebCode) and further details will be sent to the appointed person in the Parent school dataset (the Head Office).
- The user with the Head Office WebCode should login to the cloud server my.edval.education and follow the steps below to link member schools to the main Head Office account.
Linking member school accounts to the Head Office account
- Go to Admin > Users
- Click on 'Manage schools access' in the Actions panel on the bottom right hand side.
- A list of all schools grouped to the Head Office account will be displayed.
- The new window with the list of schools will display tick boxes, one against each school which, when selected, will give access to all users in the Head Office to access that particular school. The other option available is to select individual users from the list for each school.
- Once selections are made click on 'Update' to confirm.
Example
In the screenshot below every user in the Head Office has access to all 3 schools but only Wendy BISHOP has access to the second school on the list.
Ticking the box next to the school will auto select all users in only that displayed page not all pages, You will have to save and go to the next page to tick the box next to school so it select all users under that disaplayed page.
Accessing member school datasets
- Individual Head Office users need to login to my.edval.education using their own webcode.
- Once logged in they will see a list of schools to which they have access. Selecting a school will open that school's dataset.
In the screenshot below the Head Office user has access to its main Head Office school as well as other member schools.
Switching between member school datasets
After selecting one school from the list, by clicking on the user profile in the top right hand corner, the user can go back to the list of schools by selecting 'Back to school selection'.
