TABLE OF CONTENTS
For many schools, cyclical timetable changes from the Tes Timetable file and room changes made via timetables or the room swap function do not require publishing before syncing to other systems and therefore having to wait for the Daily Organiser to publish and sync means that this data is often delayed in reaching the third party system. To improve the efficiency of this flow of data a new feature has been added. This will allow the continuous update of other systems from Timetable Daily without the need for manual intervention by Daily Organisers or Administrators.
Automated Instant Sync for Cyclical Timetable Changes and Room Changes
To activate the instant synchronisation to selected third party systems of cyclical timetable changes that have been made in the Timetable file and synced to the Edval web server and/or room changes made via Timetable Daily and the room swaps feature, follow these steps:
1) Go to Daily > Synchronisation and select the system to which this instant sync is to be applied and click on the edit button.
2) In the 'Update sync config' window select one or both options in the Auto sync section as required.
3) Save the configuration.
Selecting the first option will activate the automated sync for any room changes or room swaps
Selecting the second option will activate the automated sync any cyclical timetable changes that have been synced from the Timetable file to the Edval web server (Timetable Daily)

Important Information
- The new Automated sync function is not available for flat file sync configurations.
- The data that is sent via this sync is data which does not require publishing.
- Timing is set to have a minimum of 3-4 minutes wait before executing an auto sync to avoid jamming sync systems with too many requests.
- If a system needs time to process syncs from Timetable Daily, the automated sync may be blocked for a short time to allow previous syncs to be processed by the external system.
- There is a limit on the number of concurrent syncs that can be performed by the server so not all changes will appear immediately in the external system. If there is a queue, it may be a few minutes before the changes are visible in the external system.

Note that not all systems are sent the same data via this sync and not all systems display all of the data that is sent. Please hover your mouse over the icon (i) next to each tick box and that will display what data is sent.
