Frequently Asked Questions

Rollover

Q: If we have a 2025 code already (after using Timetable Choice for electives) is this still valid or do I need to do it again?
A: It is still valid. You will not be required to generate another 2025 WebCode

Q: Can you have both a 2024 and 2025 Timetable Daily going at the same time (now) using different codes?
A: Yes

Q: Why does my admin/settings in Edval Daily only show 'Roll over 2023 settings' even though I am in my 2024 file?
A: You will see 2024 when you are in the 2025 dataset. You need to be in Next year data to see the previous data to rollover.

Q: Do I have to sync my 2025 timetable file in order to rollover my Daily now? My 2025 timetable file is not complete yet.
A: Yes, the rollover requirement in Daily is that the timetable must be synced to Daily first, you can go ahead and sync your 2025 file even if it is not completed yet. You can later sync it again once finalised.

Q: How do we get into the 2025 data set?
A: You can get into your 2025 by either having a 2025 WebCode you can do a 'switch year' by clicking on your login at the top right corner and choosing 2025

Q: Can I rollover before the end of a semester or mid-term?
A: Yes, you can rollover whenever you want to, as long as you have a 2025 etz file.

Date mapping and Other Setting

Q: Can date mapping be done before syncing the 2025 etz file?
A: Yes. Please refer here for the knowledge base documentTimetable Daily: Date Mapping
Q: Is there a way to change the credit cover for a period?
A: Yes, you can change credit cover in Daily>Settings>Cover Credit. Please refer here for the knowledge base document. Edval Daily: Cover Credit

User Management

Q: We haven't used room booking before, and we only have a few teachers with access to Timetable Daily. How do we set up room booking for all staff? And what else will they see on Timetable Daily? Can it be restricted to room booking?
A: A new role can be created in Admin --> Roles, and permissions can be restricted depending upon what the school wants; this role should then be given to all staff. By default, all staff have the role of a 'permanent teacher' assigned. Please refer here for the knowledge base documentTimetable Daily: Room and Equipment Booking Permissions & Timetable Daily: Granting access to Users, Creating Roles and Allocating Permissions

Q: Can Inactive staff be deleted?
A: When you rollover to 2024, any Inactive teachers will not migrate. Please refer here for the knowledge base document regarding Inactive staff. Inactive Teachers and Deleting Records

Q: In relation to the users and deleting them, does the historical data only relate to the current year or past years?
A: It will only relate to the current year's data

Q: How can a part time teacher be marked as casual during the non timetabled days?
A: In Admin>Users>edit the user, there is an Option called 'Part-time casual'. Please refer here for the knowledge base document regarding part-time teachers. - Users: Creating Casual and Admin Staff

Syncing your data to Daily

Q: Can you have the new TT file synced with Edval Daily 2025, and the current TT file synced with Edval Daily 2024?
A: Yes, you can: 2024 and 2025 Daily are separate areas, so as long as you have the right academic year set in Setup > School Info, then it will sync to the respective year when you run it. Please refer here for the knowledge base documentUploading Timetable Data from Edval 10 to Edval Web Server

Q: Why is the Edval Webserver sync greyed out?
A: This is because no data is selected in the Sync Now>Advanced. Please refer here for the knowledge base document. Uploading Timetable Data from Edval 10 to Edval Web Server
