E10 Terminology
Band: A year cohort of students are separated into two or more streams, typically a 'top' and 'bottom' or two parallel streams, each consisting of three or four groups of classes. For example, class groups ABC&D might be in one band while class groups EFG&H are in another.

Nested group: A class floats against another class and holds the same students.
Period: A single component of a teaching cycle, e.g. Wednesday week A, period 4.

Subject: The subject long name such as ‘English’.
Sub-line: A smaller group of classes in a line. Line 1a classes float with Line 1b classes.
