E10 discourages manual room changes. If the tools for auto rooming are used and the workflow followed, manual room changes should not be required and auto rooming will provide better outcomes. If you need to manual changes you can use the Room master timetable.
Move a lesson from one period to another: Drag and drop it to the new place. You can also view room clashes easily in this screen as both classes will appear in the relevant cell. When moving a class preferred rooms will highlight white, with ‘fallbacks’ a light grey and ‘if desperate’ a darker grey. Unavailable rooms will be shaded grey but you can override this to allocate here. The normal clash spots will appear to alert the user, and will temporarily appear while allocating or shifting a class to a room. Double click in a cell with a clash to see details of the clash.
Assign a period: Drag and drop the lesson from the ‘Need period’ section onto the timetable.
Remove a period: Drag and drop the lesson down to the ‘Need period’ section.
Change teacher: Click on the lesson, hit T or CTRL-T on the keyboard and click on the new teacher code in the selection window. Current loads are shown on the right-hand side in the selection window.
Change/assign room: Click on the lesson, hit R or CTRL-R on the keyboard and click the new room. Click on the minus to assign no room for that period.
Undo a move: Hit CTRL-Z on the keyboard or the undo arrow.
