TABLE OF CONTENTS
Preamble
Students often have to be manually added into the E10 file, such as when new students enrol in the school throughout the school year, and they need a timetable to be created for them.
When a student enrols in the school, student details will be added to the school’s Student Information System that manages student enrolments (SIS). These details include:
- Student Code (a unique number or code)
- Surname
- Given Names
- Gender
- Year Group
Students can be added into the etz. file via:
- the Edval sync tools to download new student data from the SIS into the Edval .etz file
- via data import
- manually, via Edval or Edval Staff
This document refers to adding individual students to the file manually into E10. Refer to other Knowledge Base articles for the other methods.
Manually add a new student
- Navigate to Students > Student data
- Select the Year level of the new student
- Scroll to the bottom empty row
- Enter the student's Code and Name. Other fields such as M/F, Letter, Number, and any other fields the user prefers, may be entered.
- Add students to classes. Refer to E10 - How to: Manage student class lists
- View the student's timetable to ensure they have the expected timetable.
The file can be synced to Daily (for schools using Daily) and any external systems.

Note that it is crucial that the Student Code is the same in both the external system and Edval to sync correctly.
