TABLE OF CONTENTS

Preamble

This option is useful in a range of scenarios for example when a student, often a Yr11 or Yr12 student, changes his/her mind about their elective selections. The table assists by showing which alternative subjects are available on the same line or, if possible, a different

Usage

  1. Navigate to Students > My classes
  2. Select the relevant year level from the year level filter
  3. Select the student from the student selector filter
  4. Click on the Line number that requires a change/entry.  A list of alternative subjects available on that line will display, along with the number of students in the class.
  5. Click on the class the student wishes to take.

Examples

Missing subject
Laurence Allman in Yr 11 is enrolled in a number of subjects, but is missing a subject on Line 1. Clicking on Line 1 shows the classes available on Line 1, along with the class sizes.

Double swap
Angela Blyton is enrolled in Health & Human Development on Line 2 but wishes to swap to another subject. Clicking on Line 2 shows the Line 2 alternatives in the 'Classes on this line' section. The other section, 'Classes on other lines', shows other subjects Angela could enrol in if she was to also swap classes for one of her other subjects. For example, Angela could enrol in Chemistry if she swaps her 11ENG.D English class for the 11ENG.E class. Clicking on Chemistry immediately makes both changes.

Triple swap
Alan no longer wishes to study Maths. He can pick up 12Art if he swaps three of his other subjects to alternate lined classes: 12Study, 12PED and 12ENG. Clicking on 12Art will immediately make all of these changes.

Removing a subject

Or click on <nothing> to simply drop the subject.
Laurence no longer wishes to study Systems Engineering, and does not want to enrol in any subject on Line 1. Clicking on 'nothing' in the alternatives section will remove him from Systems Engineering and leave blanks on his timetable (or put him in a Study class if the Study roster is being used).

Tips

  1. Use the keyboard Page Up / Page Down to cycle between students.
