Timetable Daily: Individual Permissions for Daily Organiser Tasks

The 'Manage Daily' permission is required by Daily Organisers to manage their day-to-day tasks within Timetable Daily. In some cases, other users may need to access some but not all of the permissions included in 'Manage Daily' when they are supporting the Daily Organiser. However, the access level of 'Manage Daily' is often too high for these users and this may create a security issue if they are assigned a role that contains that permission. To improve the access levels for Daily Organiser assistants, the permissions within 'Manage Daily' have been broken into individual permissions which are now available to assign to appropriate roles.

Please note that if you create a role with only the Manage Daily permission give to the role then you will also need to select the 'Edit document templates' permission as seen below screenshot

 

The 'Manage Daily' permission and sub-permissions

The 'Manage Daily' permission still exists and can be added to or deleted from roles.
The following permissions are included in the 'Manage Daily' permission as well as being available individually to assign to roles.
  1. Manage Covers. This will give access to the Daily > Home > Covers tab and all associated functionality.
  2. Manage Events.  This will give access to the Daily > Home > Events tab and all associated functionality.
  3. Manage Absences. This will give access to the Daily > Home > Absences tab and all associated functionality.
  4. Manage Room Swaps. This will give access to the Daily > Home > Room Swaps tab and all associated functionality.
  5. Manage Casual Requests. This will give access to the Daily > Home > Casual Requests tab and all associated functionality.
  6. Manage Synchronisation. This will give access to Daily > Synchronise and all associated functionality.
  7. Manage Daily Settings.  This will give access to all Daily > Settings tabs and all associated functionality.
  8. Manage Room Bookings. This will give access to teacher timetables to add, edit and delete room bookings for all teachers.
  9. Manage Lesson Plans. This will give access to teacher timetables to add, edit or delete lesson plans for all teachers.
A new permission has been added:
  1. View Covers. This permission will give 'read only' access to Daily > Home > Covers.  The covers page will be visible but will not be editable.
These permissions can be added to existing roles or can be used when creating new roles.
