Background
GUIDs are unique identifiers. Teachers, rooms, or classes have GUIDs assigned to them. In the past there were multiple queries from school who had to create an unique account for a permanent teacher (who wished to change to casual). With enforcement of the GUID, issues pertaining to change in user accounts were reduced drastically.
Feature
When an ETZ has an SIF sync configured, a sync to Edval Web Server will prompt the user if there is an empty entry in Teachers > Teacher data > Show column : GUID.
Below are screenshots of prompts for 10 respectively:
When a file has an SIF sync configured, it is enforced that a sync to Edval Web Server requires a GUID for all teachers. This means the user has to sync with the SIF first or enter in the GUIDs themselves.
If there is no SIF sync involved, users may be able to sync to Edval web server.
Conclusion
In absence of SIF sync, GUIDs can be created by Tes which is watermarked. In presence of SIF sync, a Download Teachers sync from the SIS needs to be done to extract GUID or GUID can be copy pasted in Classes > Class data. A sync to Edval web server should work when the GUID column is filled for all teachers.
