TABLE OF CONTENTS

Definition

  1. Tes Multi File means multiple Timetable files - Primary, Secondary.
  2. Tes Multi Grid means a single Timetable file has 2 or more (multiple) sets of belltimes.
  3. Single grid means one set of belltimes for all year levels on the file.

Sync with Sentral

  1. Can sync 2 or more separate Timetable files, each with single grids, with a single Sentral instance.
  2. Can sync 1 Multi Grid Timetable file with a single Sentral instance. The school must be licensed to use the Tes Multi Grid feature.
  3. Can NOT sync multiple Multi Grid Timetable files with a single Sentral instance.
  4. Can NOT sync a Multi Grid Timetable file and Single Grid Timetable file into a single Sentral instance.

Options

Either:
  1. Combine all grid structures into 1x file using Multi Grid feature (must have licence for this feature to be enabled), ensuring all campuses are prefixed with their campus-specific code, requiring sync from Tes with 1x username to Sentral. Also, Period names for each Grid needs to be unique to have it visually separated in Sentral. Eg. Primary (P1,P2, PR, etc) & Secondary (S1, S2, SR, etc) & Default (D1, D2, DR, etc)
  2. Split all Grids into individual files, requiring individual username and passwords for each grid and sync from each file.  Both files need to make sure that the period names for each file is unique.
    Alert
If 1 school has and syncs from Timetable Daily, the other school needs to have and sync from Timetable Daily as well. Otherwise Sentral will not accept the data.
In both cases, the school must liaise with both Tes and Sentral separately, in order for this to be set up correctly.

Warning

Sentral provides different username and passwords but may keep the same URL between the multiple files to ensure they are not wiping each other when 1 school syncs.

Timetable Daily

Option 1  (1 Multi Grid Timetable file) syncs with a single instance of Timetable Daily.

Option 2 (multiple Timetable files) requires multiple instances of  Timetable Daily.

Warning

If a school wishes to move to EITHER multi file, or multi grid an option within the Timetable module > Setup Timetables > Settings in Sentral will need to be enabled as shown below

Notes

Sentral only supports multi files to a single Sentral instance if the number of cycle days in both files is the same.
