Preamble

A true job share is when 2 part-timers can teach the same subjects and together are equivalent to one full-time teacher, i.e. their total combined load is 1.0.

Teachers load

When setting up a job share in E10, the quickest and easiest way to do so is to first select the teacher with the majority of the job share and treat them as a single load for the time being. Go to Teachers > Teacher Data (F2) and mark the main teacher as having a full load and the second teacher as having no load.

Construct timetable and split loads

Throughout the timetable set up and construction process, this teacher will be treated as one (make sure they are in the right teacher sets), once the process of construction is complete (before rooming), return to Teachers > Teacher Data (F2). Insert the new split loads between the two teachers and add-in the days that they are unavailable.

Move classes to the second teacher's timetable

Once this is complete go to Teachers > Teachers master (by day). On the main teacher's timetable, a series of U’s will now be visible, showing that the teacher is no longer available on those days. Pick up each of the periods that are marked with a U and drag them to the second teacher's timetable.*

* Or go to Teachers > Timetables (F3) and go to the main teacher's timetable. A series of U's will now be visible, showing that the teacher is no longer available on those days. Click on each of the periods that are marked with a U and press 'T' on the keyboard to select the second teacher for all the classes.

It is easy to check any missed U's in the individual teacher’s timetable and can be fixed in the Teacher master or in the individual teacher's timetable.
