E10 - Class data: RoomPref

Preamble

If the column is not displayed, Select View > Room prefs.

The best practice is to leave this column blank (in which case a faint 'Set options' will appear in the cell). The Rooms > Subject rooms data will determine which rooms may be assigned to this class.

For most classes E10 will display 'lots' which means that any room with type 'General' will do, if required.
E10 will display a list of the rooms when
  • there is a 'Y' in Subject rooms > Only for some of the specialist subjects
  •  there is only one room in the 'RoomPref' column with 'Only' added

Double-click a cell in this column to see the Subject Rooms options (room set) for this class.   From here, choose Edit set to access Subject Rooms screen for the associated faculty.
Otherwise press Ctrl-R in the RoomPref cell for direct access to the Subject Rooms screen.

In this example, the ART classes have 2 rooms as main options and 2 fallbacks.  No other room is deemed suitable.

In this example, the BIO classes have 2 rooms as main options and 3 fallbacks. There are also lots of general rooms that may be used, if required.

To override the Subject rooms data, enter one or more room codes in this column.
When no room is required, eg. Assembly, enter ‘None’.

 Format

<Room code>  - for multiple rooms separate the codes with a comma
<Code,Only>  - use if that room must be assigned to that class.
<None>   - use if class does not have its own room.  Usually due to being linked with another class, but can be used for Assembly, Sport or an offsite class such as TAFE.

The feint entry indicates how many rooms in the current room set.
