TABLE OF CONTENTS
Preamble
Manual class selection can be used to enrol new students, or make changes to existing students' class enrolments. It is used primarily in senior lined-based classes, such as in Years 11 & 12, or in elective lines in Years 9 and 10.
Changes to existing students may involve:
- a single swap: changing from one class to another class on the same line
- multiple swaps: swapping classes across more than one line.
A visual arrangement of classes display for each student, showing:
- the subjects they are currently in on each line (highlighted in green)
- the maximum class size setting for each class
- the actual class sizes for each class
- if multiple classes for a subject occur, each class will display on the relevant line
- if E10 was used for line generation, and the student had entered subject preferences, the preference level of the subject will also display.

Students > Manual class selection is an alternative to Students > My classes, and gives a more visual display of classes.
Usage
- Navigate to Students > Manual class selection.
- Select a year level, Rotation (if applicable) and student from Filter menu at the top right.
- Double click on the coloured & numbered button in the cell of the class in the line they wish to move student to or from.
Example
Betsy wants to swap her Line 1 Sociology class to Maths - General.
Double clicking on the class cell for Maths - General moves Betsy into Maths - General on Line 1, and removes her from the Maths - General class she was in on Line 5.
The class sizes are updated. Note that hovering over the Maths class cell displays the assigned teacher.

If Betsy wanted to access other subjects, turning on the ' All year classes' option will display all other subjects.
View Options
Select options in the View drop down menu to configure the display of data on this screen.
- All year classes: display all subjects in the year level, not just the subjects assigned to the selected student
- Linked classes: if linked classes exist in the file, these can be selected to display the number of students from both year levels who are enrolled in the class.
- Roll call classes: When selected, Roll call classes will be displayed, provided a roll call wildcard has been entered in Setup > School info.
- Shorten line names: This option will shorten the line names by removing several characters and replacing them with an ellipsis. For example, 11LineS+13#12Lf.1+2 will be shortened to 11LineS+...
This will reduce the width of the grid, making it easier to use. - Show letter group : Display the letter group of each student in the Student drop down list
- Show number group : Display the number group of each student in the Student drop down list
Cycle through students
Each button will appear in light grey when there is data available, and dark grey if no data is available.
