Preamble
This document is intended to assist CEWA school users in updating codes to the new SCSA Standardised Course Codes.

Changing Codes to reflect in Class Data
Select Setup > Subjects in Admin.

In the Filter drop down select one faculty (it is recommended that codes be changed per faculty). In this example English is being used.

Select the course code of the year level (or combined years) you wish to change, type in the new code and hit enter on your keyboard.

You will receive a Code change warning, advising you of the number of classes assigned to the faculty subject.
- Check all the classes listed to ensure they are correct.
- Where years have been combined, all classes in every year level will be listed. Where possible and where codes are the same for multiple year levels, it is recommended changing them all at once.
Select the option 'Change them (recommended)'.

Every class associated with that code will be changed in Class data.

Repeat these steps for each faculty for every code that requires changing.
Changing Codes in Elective Data
Select Lines > Elective data, select the code for changing, type in the new code and hit enter on your keyboard.

A renaming selection will appear, select the option 'Rename'. This will ensure that your link to the Teacher and Room sets are preserved. Repeat for all codes in each year level.

Course Code and Class ID
Course Code and Class ID should have no separator.

To ensure that codes have no separator when creating class from lines, go to Setup > School info, scroll to 'Which format to use for constructing class codes' and ensure the following is selected

This updates in Lines and when creating classes from line generation, classes will create without a separator. Classes not generated by lines will need to have the separator manually deleted.
