Preamble
It is possible to upload existing student preference data from the etz file to the webserver.
A common scenario is where Year 12 students will drop one of their subjects. The school may want the students to log in to Choice to see all of their existing subjects, and choose one subject to drop.
Another scenario might be where students have submitted preferences, which have been downloaded into the etz file, the Choice form closed, then manual changes made to student preferences in the etz file. These changes may need to be reflected online for students and/or administrators.

These instructions assume that an existing dataset contains information in the Elective data > Courses > Students screen. Refer to E10 - Elective data > Courses Action: Reprocess Lines as an option to populate student preference data.
Upload preferences process
- Open the relevant .etz timetable file
- Navigate to Lines > Edval Choice > Publish
- Select the desired dataset form from the drop down (top right)
- From the Action bar on the right, select Upload choices from file to web
- Select '.etz takes precedence'
Note the option 'Web takes precedence' and select this one if it better suits your requirements - Check the correct dataset shows, and the desired year level, particularly if the form contains multiple year levels. Pathways will also show if there is more then one pathway option.
- Select Upload
A message will display that the action has been completed.

Students submission will display on the webserver.
Check/set up the Choice form for rules and configuration options if students will then enter submissions.
