  4. RollBack
  5. Refresh licence certificate

Allow new updates

We regularly release new functionality and fixes, and these are internally tagged as Regular or Critical.

There are two settings:
  1. Anytime (recommended)
This will keep your local software up to date with the most-recent version available.
It will automatically install both regular and critical updates.
  2. Only if they are critical
Allows the user to decide when to install regular updates.
Critical updates will occur as released - there is no user option to manage this type of update.

Update

The Update option will display if your current version is not the latest. Press this button to update to the latest version.

Test connection

The 'Test connection' function would confirm the connectivity between the E10 application and the online E10 update server.

When clicking this button, you will be prompted for the proxy user name and password. Proceed by clicking 'Ok' if your school is not using proxy and the response should be as below screenshot. The connection result should list down the downloaded log with a size mentioned. If you are getting an error or 0kb instead then please check with your IT department to make sure E10 application is allowed to communicate with E10  server. For more information on E10 servers please refer here.

Rollback

You are able to manually rollback your software version to an older version, should you encounter a problem with an update.  As our releases are thoroughly tested, your school isn't likely to experience the need for this setting. Should we detect a problem after release that may affect a large number of schools, we can withdraw the release.  In such cases, your software will automatically rollback to the last stable version.

When selecting RollBack, you will have the option to select which recent version you wish to roll back to. Usually it will just be the previous one or two versions, noted by the version number. For example, Edval1010.9.21 is an older version than Edval1010.23.0.

There will likely be some older versions stored on your computer or network (shown on the left hand side column under the 'Autobaks' heading), or you can select a version to download from the E10 servers (shown on the right hand side column under the 'https://update.edval.education' heading).

Select a version and then OK. Your file will close and re-open in the new version.

Refresh licence certificate

When you purchase new modules, or upgrade your licence, such as to Platinum, this button will update your software settings to make use of the new module.
