TABLE OF CONTENTS
Preamble
Once the forms have been set up and configured, they can be synchronised to the webserver, ready for testing. Once the forms have been thoroughly tested, students can be provided their WebCodes and they can log in and submit their subject preferences.
It is likely that the forms will be sync'd many times throughout the selection process including for initial form testing, new students who arrive during the period that the form is open, and then again when closing the form.
Sync settings and options
Navigate to Lines > Edval Choice > Sync and select the dataset and year level from the dropdowns that will be sync'd.
If using a multi-year dataset, each year level will need to be sync'd separately.
Email settings
Send confirmation emails to: students or administrator
When students submit their preferences online, the webserver can automatically send a copy of students' submissions to the student and/or the administrator (this is only possible if student email addresses are contained in the .etz file). Students will still have the option to print or email their form at the time of submission. Note that if students choose to email their form after submitting their preferences, the system will give them the option to send the submissions to the current email address as stored in the .etz file, or enter an alternate email address.
Neither option may be selected and no automatic emails will be sent of students' submissions.
Confirmation email sender is: 'noreply' or Administrator
If students is selected above, they will receive the submission email as shown above. This setting controls what happens if they should choose to reply to the email. 'noreply' will not be received by anyone. The user can enter any appropriate school email address here.
Submission settings
No changes. New submissions only
Schools have the option to allow students to submit and re-submit their preferences as many times as they like while the form is open, or, may choose to allow students to submit preferences one time only. Tick the No Changes checkbox for the latter.
Close forms with message:
When the form is ready to be closed, check this check box and sync. A message must also be entered, which will display to students should they try to access the form again.
Sync
Select the sync button to sync the forms to the webserver. The forms can be sync'd as many times as necessary throughout the process.
Be wary of changing subject codes once a form is open and students have begun submitting preferences, as the codes that have been selected must exist in the .etz file for the download to occur successfully.
The sync status will display at the bottom of the screen after a successful sync.

Syncing a Choice form will also sync the current student enrolments and will apply not only to the online Choice module but will also update and overwrite the student enrolments in your other online products such as Daily and Interviews. This change will only be applied to the academic year of the file from where you are syncing your Choice form.

If using multi-year datasets, each year level must be sync'd separately.
If using pathways, all pathways within a year level will be sync'd at the same time.
