TABLE OF CONTENTS

Preamble

Faculties are used in E10 for the following purposes:

  1. to group teachers
  2. to classify subjects
There are many views where information can be filtered by faculty, including:
  1. Setup > Subjects
  2. Teachers > Teacher data
  3. Teachers > Subject teachers
  4. Teachers > Staff allocations
  5. Rooms > Subject rooms
  6. Timetables > Faculty timetables
There are also several reports that can extract data based on faculties.

Faculty data

Setup > Faculty data

Each faculty is listed alphabetically, along with the teacher codes of the teachers belonging to each faculty.
Additional faculties can be added entering text into the blank cell at the bottom of the list.
Warning Important: Do not create a faculty called "All faculties" as it is a system-defined keyword. There will be issues in File > Bulk Print if "All faculties" is entered manually as a Faculty name.

Faculty colours

Please note the E10 default faculty colours. It is much appreciated if you continue using the default colours, as all Tes Timetable consultants, and all documentation, uses these colours. This helps you receive quick and helpful assistance from our support.

Double click on the faculty, or right click and choose 'Change colour', to select a colour from the slide out  window on the right of the screen.
Arts: Pink
English: Yellow
Humanities: Brown
Languages: Orange
Maths: Red
PE/Health: Green
Science: Cyan
Technology: Navy blue
No faculty (admin): Grey
Info  To enable a wider range of colours, go to Setup > School info, select the option 'Enable extended colour options'.

Faculty teachers

Teachers are assigned to a single faculty in two ways:
1. Enter teacher codes into the Teachers section in Faculty data. A teacher picker slide out appears for teacher code selection.
2. Teachers > Teacher data: Select 'All faculties' from the View menu, and enter the faculty name into the Faculty column.
Alert A teacher cannot belong to more than one faculty, although they can teach across any and all faculties according to data entered into Teachers > Subject teachers.
