Preamble
Each subject (course) included in the timetable file is listed in the Subjects screen, along with the default information.
Refer also to: E10 - Edval Naming Convention for Course and Class Codes
Subjects
Navigate to Setup > Subjects.

The data includes:
1. Course
The course code for each subject, in its faculty colour. The colour for a course will match the faculty colour by default, but can be changed by double clicking or right clicking on the Course cell and selecting an alternate colour from the slide out panel.
2. Years
The year levels that the course information appear as classes in. Sometimes the same information applies for several year levels so may be combined into one row, for example years 7,8,9. Other times there is different information across the year levels requiring separate rows for each course code.
3. Subject
The subject name for the course.
4. Faculty
The faculty each course is assigned to, in its faculty colour.
5. #Per (Number of periods per cycle)
#Per syntax has several options:
1. number of periods online / on the grid (as indicated by the white cells in the Grid Structure) Eg: 6
2. number of periods offline / off grid (as indicated by the yellow cells in the Grid Structure) Eg. 0+10
3. a mixture of online and offline periods EG. 6+2
4. number of periods with the inclusion of teacher load where it differs from the number of periods Eg 2(0), 0+10(2.3)
6. Spread
Refers to the pattern of class placement on the timetable across the cycle. There are several options to choose from:
- NoDouble: Only singles
- Double: Exactly 1 double period, remaining lessons singles
- Easy: 0 or 1 double
- Loose: 0, 1 or 2 doubles
- TwoDoubles, ThreeDoubles, AllDoubles, Triple, Quadruple and so on.
- Anything: E10 can place these periods anywhere without any spread management. Mainly used for offline classes, particularly where they are hardcoded to particular period slots.
7. MaxStu (Maximum number of students)
Maximum number of students that are allowed into the class. This information is used for class list management purposes.
8. Notes
Any additional information about courses can be added here. This will not appear in teachers' or students' timetables.
9. Official course data (official course title used by government agencies)
This screen will appear customised for the region of the school file. The table links courses in E10 with the appropriate educational authority codes.
