Preamble
The online Choice platform has many features available that compliment and enhance the E10 Choice module.
While the majority of the set up for Choice is done within the .etz timetable file, there are additional features available online.
The administrator, or any additional users the administrator sets up or grants permissions to, may log on to see and use the online features. The timetabler must sync the web forms to the Edval webserver to before any Choice data is available.
Log on to Choice online
- Navigate to my.edval.education
- Enter your admin WebCode. This is the same WebCode that the timetabler uses to sync the Choice form.
The administrator, after logging in, can set up additional users via Admin > Users.
Choice Forms
- Navigate to Choice > Forms. Open synced forms will display.
Headings
Name: The title of the web forms as entered into the .etz timetable file ( Lines > Datasets: Description)
Years: The year level of students that are part of the dataset form
No. of students: The total number of students that are part of the dataset form
No. of submissions: The number of students who have submitted their preferences
Not submitted: The number of students who have not submitted their preferences
Form status: Open forms are displayed by default, change to All or Closed as required.
Form actions
Course popularity
The Course popularity report displays the number of students who have selected a course at each preference level. It is used to assist in the planning which courses to run, and how many classes of each.
- Click on the blue number in each column to display the list of students it represents.
- Click on headings to sort.
- Multi year datasets: year levels may be filtered to show a single year level.
- Click on the Excel icon in the top right of the table to export the data to excel.
List of submitted forms
Students who have submitted preferences will display, along with submission details.
List of not submitted forms
Students who have not yet submitted are displayed. This list can be easily exported to Excel, or students can be emailed a reminder to log on and submit their preferences.
Act as student
Administrators and approved users may submit choices on behalf of a student via the Act as student link. The user can select a student from the right, and will be taken to the relevant forms the student would see if they were to log in using their individual WebCode. The code of the administrator or approved user will be logged against the submission.

Communicate
Communication to students can be done via email or by printing letters.
Example communications:
- Communicate WebCodes and log in details
- Subject selection instructions and details
- Reminder to submit to students who have not yet submitted by a certain date
