E10 - Configuring Tes to sync with CEO Maitland/Newcastle SAS via Export

Preamble

Class list and timetable information can be sent from Tes to CEO Maintland/NewCastle SAS. Data will be first exported from Tes, and then imported into CEO Maintland/NewCastle SAS.

The following information has been provided by the CEO Maintland/NewCastle SAS team and was correct at the time of publication. Please check the CEO Maintland/NewCastle SAS documentation for any changes to the process. Please contact them for any support required in the set up in this system, as Tes consultants are not able to advise.

The CEO Maintland/NewCastle SAS export function from Tes will export two TXT files:
  1. Subjects
  2. Timetable

Step 1: Configure the CEO Maintland/NewCastle SAS Sync

The settings must first be configured prior to exporting the required data. This step may only be required once, as Tes will remember your settings.
  1.  In Tes, select File > Synchronisation > Configure

  1. In the Configure tab, select CEO Maintland/NewCastle SAS from the drop down list of options.

  1. In the Connection tab, select Browse to choose the output destination folder on your computer or network.
  2. If you would like to have the files exported every time a save is done, you can tick the 'Sync each time you save' box

Multiple systems can be set up to sync. It is common to have both the Edval webserver and the school's learning management system configured along with any other systems the school wishes to regularly sync to.


Step 2: Exporting Data

Once the sync settings have been saved, the data can be exported. The export will be performed whenever the timetable data changes and requiring another sync to CEO Maintland/NewCastle SAS.

  1. Navigate to File > Synchronisation > Sync now.

  1. After the file is exported successfully, you will see the following success message

  1. You can navigate to the file location to look at the data if desired.
