Sometimes a user might like to import subjects to populate the elective data screens in order to collect students' preferences and generate lines. An import of course data can occur from a spreadsheet, however, if the courses already exist in Class data (F6) screens, then a spreadsheet import is not required.

Example:

The Class data screen below shows the Year 8 classes that are on lines. These are the classes that need to be set up in the Electives data screen so that new lines can be created.
*8SCI.G is marked as a 'Group 8J' class, so this class will not be imported into the Elective data screen.

Import courses

Go to Lines > Datasets.
Create a dataset
Go to Lines > Elective data > Courses tab
From the View menu, select 'Show advanced options'

From the Action bar slide out select Import courses on lines from F6 > Import button

Course codes will display.
If extra unnecessary courses comes through - no problem, just delete them!

Add any other courses required and continue with the line generation process.
