Preamble
While a class will typically be studying a single subject with a single teacher in a single room, sometimes an additional teacher or room may be required, such as when team teaching, or if a class requires a second break-out space.
This article covers how to assign additional rooms or teachers to a class through the use of sub-classes.
Sub-Classes Overview
A sub-class is directly related to a parent class and cannot exist without it.
Sub-classes are used to assign additional resources, such as rooms or teachers, to a class. Note the following about subclasses:
The sub-class does not hold any students - these remain in the parent class. It just holds the extra resource - teacher or room.
The sub-class must have the same or fewer periods than the class to which it is linked.
The sub-class is automatically linked to the parent class and so will run times for all or some of the periods.

Sub-classes can be used to change resources in different rotations, or to assign different teachers or rooms, such as splitting a when class into theory and practical components. See following articles more more details
